SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong will be releasing a limited edition version of his debut solo album, “Break Down“!

It’s just been revealed that SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong will be releasing a limited edition version of his debut solo album, “Break Down“!

KeyEast Entertainment stated, “We are releasing a limited edition album as a gesture of thanks for those fans who’ve sent lots of love for Kim Hyun Joong’s first mini-album. The limited edition contains a variety of content, including a ‘making-of’ clip as well as personal stories from Kim Hyun Joong himself.”

The limited edition album is comprised of a CD and a making-of clip, a DVD containing the music videos for ‘Break Down’ and ‘Please‘, and 48 pages of never-before-seen photos.

The making-of film holds a special video message for fans as well as highlights from June 7th’s showcase. It also includes clips of Kim Hyun Joong’s dance practice and behind-the-scenes moments from the MV set.

A representative from KeyEast stated, “We regrouped with the best staff once again to provide higher-quality videos and footage, different from the ones you’d find in other limited edition albums.”

Kim Hyun Joong’s limited edition mini-album will be available in off-line stores on June 30th.

KIM HYUN-JOONG, 1ST SOLO SINGER TO SELL 100,000 ALBUM COPIES

Solo singer Kim Hyun-joong has made quite the successful comeback, selling 100,000 copies of his album already.

According to album sales tracking agency, Hanteo Chart, on June 22nd, Kim sold 80,000 copies of his mini album “Break Down” in just the first two weeks. Another 20,000 were sold until now making total sales clock in at about 100,000 copies.

During times when albums are no longer the popular choice of music purchases, this figure is quite significant. So significant that the popular star is the first solo singer to have made such sales. He’s in good company of other idol groups like Big Bang and TVXQ who have accomplished the same feat as a group.

According to KEYEAST, Kim is planning on embarking on his Asia Tour in August. This is expected to only increase sales.

The singer-turned-actor undoubtedly faced much pressure to stand on his own two feet as a singer after the members of SS501 all signed with different management companies when their contract with DSP Entertainment ended. Already having reached number on a popular music ranking live performance show, it’s clear that he’s doing just fine flying solo.

Kim Hyun Joong's management company Keyeast reveals that his debut solo mini album 'Break Down' 's total album sales has surpassed 100 000 within 2 weeks.

Album sales figures research site Hanteo has recorded 83 000 from the release date on the 8th to 20t of this month. In addition with 20 000 amount of album sales in Japan, the total album sales reached 100 000.

Keyeast expresses 'This year besides idol groups like Big Bang & TVXQ, he is the first solo artist to break 100 000 in album sales.' and 'Other than Japan, the rest of Asia's album sales have not been recorded. 17th June 2011 – SS501‘s maknae Kim Hyung Jun was in Singapore for his fan meet which was held at the Rock Auditorium in Suntec City. Kick-starting the night with a powerful performance of his solo debut album title track “oH! aH!“, the excitement of his fan crowd was off the Richter-scale with all the screaming and lyric-chanting at the top of their voices right from the very beginning. With many prominently lit-up LED fan boards held up high, it was truly a spectacular display of fan support and love for Baby Kim.
After his extremely well-received introductory performance, Kim formally introduced himself to the crowd alongside the 2 emcees for the night, before proceeding on with his first interactive session. As many might have already known Kim as a great entertainer, his comical-self was evident when the emcees were trying to teach him our local flavour of the English Language – Singlish. With his already-superb command of English, it really wasn’t difficult for Kim to pick up and use the words “lah”, “meh” and “sia” in simple sentences. Armed with his newly-learnt language skill, Kim would occasionally poke fun of the emcees with sentences such as “he handsome meh?” and “sexy sia!” much to everyone’s laughter – talk about backfire. (Of course he only meant them to be playful jokes.)

After the short but hilarious session of ‘teach-and-learn’, Kim went on to perform another of his adrenaline-pumping songs from his debut album titled “Girl“, before proceeding on with even more interactive activities with his fans.

To showcase Kim’s artistic drawing abilities to the crowd for the next activity, a lucky Thai fan girl was randomly picked from the audience to assist Kim with the task! Her job was to model for Kim while he attempted to do a quick sketch of her. Before she returned to her seat , the final portrait, made perfect with Kim’s autograph, was given to her after it was completed, before the eyes of immensely jealous onlookers.

Last week, K-POP group U-Kiss visited our back seats (sat at the last row of the seats meant for crew). They have given Goong Musical rave reviews which we will now introduce to you.

I enjoyed watching the Goong musical.
Every scene had a lot of fun parts, there were also moments where it was very touching.

ELI:
It was really enjoyable.
I have been able to watch and enjoy both the drama and musical.

KISEOP:
Firstly, thank you for extending the invitation to all our members (to watch the musical).
Interesting portions of the drama were also presented in the musical and it was very enjoyable to be able to watch it.
The singing of songs in the during the musical was also very good. Also, I hope to have a chance like this.

Kim Hyung Jun completes a successful concert in Singapore

On June 17th, SS501’s Kim Hyung Jun officially kicked off his South East Asian tour in Singapore with 1,200 fans!

Tickets for the event sold out prior to the concert, and Kim Hyung Jun was greeted by 300 fans upon his arrival at the airport. His popularity overseas proved to be explosive, as fans holding placards and baskets of presents followed his every move, even renting a bus to follow his whereabouts.

Major Singaporean media outlets covered the special events. Performances included all of his solo album and SS501’s “U R Man.” Kim Hyung Jun prepared other events specifically for his fans where he drew their portraits, sang “I Am“, opened a ‘high touch’ event, and even passed out autographed posters.

This tour will continue on to Hong Kong on July 17th and Taiwan on the 24th. As fans already know, Kim Hyung Jun signed with Avex so he will also be performing in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya in July.

Kim Hyun Joong reveals he was jealous of Won Bin & Kang Dong Won

On June 13th, SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong guested on SBS’s “Night After Night” and revealed that he was jealous of Won Bin and Kang Dong Won’s handsome looks.

The star was asked, “Is there any actor that you’re jealous of in terms of physical looks?”. Kim Hyun Joong replied, “I was watching the movie ‘The Man From Nowhere‘ and noticed that women were raving over the scene where he shaves his own head. I got jealous without even thinking about it and scoffed to myself, ‘Who really cuts their hair alone like that?’”

He continued, “When I was watching Kang Dong Won’s ‘Jeon Woo-Chi’, I personally thought that he was cool too, but the girls were raving over it, so I jealously remarked, ‘Country dialects aren’t weird!’”

UEE shares a story about Kim Hyun Joong on Night after Night

After School’s UEE shares her story of her first encounter with SS501′ Kim Hyun Joong causing firing jealousy in many fan girls.

On the June 13th airing of SBS’s Night After Night, UEE confessed, “I first saw him during a CF (Commercial Film) shoot, we held hands right as we met.” She also added, “My coordinator is a fan ofKim Hyun Joong and laughed when she saw this. She had eye contact with Hyun Joong while asking me if I was happy [to hold hands with him], she was really embarrassed.”

UEE then came to her coordinator’s defense and reassured Hyun Joong that her coordinator was not talking to him when she jealously made that comment.

It was clear that Hyun Joong was infatuated by UEE’s presence; the shy flower boy also confessed,“When I first saw UEE, I was secretly making a fuss about how pretty she was in the back.” When he was asked how it felt to hold her hand by MC Park Myung Soo, Hyun Joong confessed that it felt“good.”
